Bio:
A native of California's San Fernando Valley, Ora Yashar grew up in a home not too far from Hollywood. As a child, Ora's parents would often take her to the movies and she immediately knew she wanted to do something in the film industry. However, that "something" would not be discovered until her third year of undergrad. While attending her first film production class, Ora discovered she wanted to tell stories as a Director. In 2005, she graduated from UC Irvine with a BA in Film and Media Studies as well as Psychology. Pursuing her dreams, Ora attended Chapman University as a directing emphasis, and in 2009 she received her MFA in Film Production. Her first short film at Chapman, LOVE SOPHIE, earned her much recognition from the faculty and film festivals. In her last semester at Chapman Ora was a Knott Scholar and had the privilege of being mentored by director Martha Coolidge (Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, Lost in Yonkers). Ora has worked with many professionals in the industry while interning at such prestigious companies as RSA, Scott Free, Samuel Goldwyn Films, and Film Rites. Currently, Ora is working at Raleigh Studios, while her thesis film, MELTING THE SNOWMAN, is screening in film festivals across the U.S. and abroad.
