Bio:
Parisa Taghizadeh is a freelance photographer currently based in LA. She grew up in London where she completed a BA Hons degree in Fine Art and later went on to work in film and television in the UK. She has worked as a publicity stills photographer for arts organizations such as Artangel and the Serpentine Gallery. She has also worked on numerous films and documentaries including Michael Winterbottom's award winning film, IN THIS WORLD. Her work has been published in magazines and newspapers, some of which include, Dazed & Confused, Tank, The Guardian, The Times, Time Out, The Independent, New Scientist, Creative Review and Frieze. She has also had her work published on several book covers and is represented by two international picture libraries; Getty Images and Millennium Images. Parisa is also a member of the London based photography collective, Photodebut and has participated in several group shows. Outside of her assignments, Parisa also works on her own personal projects dealing with issues of people's personal identity. MAKE-UP, IRAN is a long term project dealing with women living in Iran and their relationship with make-up and its rituals. She is also currently working on MOTHER, a project about mothers and their identity outside of motherhood.
