Day of the Dead Sugar Skulls
led by Maria Galica
3:00-4:00pm
Location: Mama’s Hot Tamales, MacArthur Park (2122 West 7th St.)
A FREE, Family Event
Decorate sugar skulls as part of the traditional Mexican holiday, Día de los muertos, or Day of the Dead. A mixture of Aztec and Catholic traditions, the holiday focuses on family and friends gathering to remember loved ones who have died. This workshop is just one of several Day of the Dead festivities happening that day in and around Mama’s Hot Tamales. Workshop participants are invited to stay for a tamale-making demonstration and watch a performance by Aztec Dancers!
